This section contains an overview of my current and past research, as well as my research philosophy, patents, and publications (all of which are accessible via the links above).

My areas of interest are image processing and computer vision, lightweight algorithms, embedded systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and infrastructure security.  I am a reviewer for a number of IEEE Transactions and computer vision-related conferences.

I am open to consulting opportunities in my areas of interest and I am constantly looking for businesses and organizations with video analytics problems that my students can attempt to solve (as part of their final projects in my Image Processing and Computer Vision courses).  This type of collaboration is beneficial for both parties, since you would possibly get a working video analytics solution and the students will get the necessary exposure to real-world problems—so if you are a business with a lot of useful video data that you cannot process on your own, please click on the Consulting link above.
